TNT Premiere Performance Teams Demonstrate Happiness Habits
Take Note Troupe is a developmental program, whose primary purpose is to teach and cultivate the Happiness Habits and Skills of Play Theory. This paradigm puts a focus on service and looking outward, which blesses the lives of the participants and also enable us to create a unified, uplifting experience for those in our premiere performance teams (Mainstage, On The Spot Improv, and Shakespeare in the Park). Participation in these teams is a privilege, and a commitment to the team and to Play Theory must be demonstrated in order to be cast and to perform. You can read more about the Play Theory principles here.
Thus, our Mainstage and Shakespeare in the Park productions will not be open to participants who are new to Take Note Troupe and Play Theory (summer camps are readily available to overcome this), and all participants in the Mainstage show are required to also enroll in (or coach) a Play Theory class concurrently this fall. This requirement will not be waived. The more our participants learn, practice, teach, and apply Play Theory, the better the outcome for individuals as well as for the team experience.
For those new to Take Note Troupe this fall, those who are too busy to commit fully to rehearsal schedules and to a concurrent Play Theory class, and anyone else who wants to “try out” the program, we invite you to enroll in one of our many other offerings, including Play Theory Foundations, studio performance classes, and others.
Please note that for participation in Shakespeare in the Park in 2024, the factor that will be most heavily considered in casting is a demonstration of commitment to Play Theory and to Looking Outward and serving in TNT. There will be many opportunities to cultivate this servant’s heart- we are offering a Service Choir and Leadership Team this fall and there will be plenty of opportunities to serve at individual workshops and at community events.
Please feel free to reach out to the board regarding a scholarship if tuition is a hardship for your family.
