The Melodies and Memories of Laura Ingalls Wilder is a TNT original musical that has captured the hearts of our audiences over the years. This musical review tells the story of a bygone era and presents life as recounted through the beloved “Little House” books. Laura Ingalls Wilder shares with her daughter memories of life on the prairie intertwined with music. Audience members are transported back in time through live music performances, dancing, and humor.
Engaging with Our Cast in a Special Opportunity for Students of U.S. History
Make history come alive! California students in 5th, 8th, and 11th grades study United States history. Included in this is the Westward Expansion described in a first hand account in the beloved Little House book series. Take Note Troupe is bringing a few of those stories and characters to life with an original production, The Melodies and Memories of Laura Ingalls Wilder, which will be staged in January 2026. There are a number of ways that schools can take advantage of this interactive and engaging opportunity for their students to dive deeper into Laura Ingalls’ stories and the pioneer west.
In Class Workshops Available
One opportunity is for Take Note Troupe to come to you in your school and instruct your class! We can bring a few of the play’s characters in an interactive workshop to your classroom to help students engage more with the Pioneer West. Our workshop will include learning more about who Laura Ingalls Wilder was and what her life was like not only in childhood, but in old age as well, when she wrote her books. In addition to this, TNT with sharing with your class our signature Play Theory method, a paradigm for resilience, validation, and positive collaboration. In January 2026, Take Note Troupe will be performing The Melodies and Memories of Laura Ingalls Wilder for audiences. This original play was written as a response to wondering, “What did all the songs mentioned in the Laura Ingalls Wilder books sound like?” This show is full of live music- songs and dances from Laura’s day!
