Rhythm can be found in all sorts of unexpected places. One of those places is in our own bodies. We have discussed with science and have confirmed that everyone living should have a heartbeat. Further than that we all have internal clocks that can determine the behavioral outcomes of our day. In this Play Theory class we will explore Rhythm with musical instruments, patterns, classical music, and lots of Play Theory games. As a result participants will become more aware of their physical bodies and their emotions.
TNT is pleased to present PLAY THEORY choirs under the direction of Sarah Blair. Sarah studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston and received a BA in music from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in jazz. She performed in the BYU Jazz Choir and Jazz Ensemble. She has led children and youth choirs for over ten years. Come harmonize together and make beautiful music to share with audiences! These choirs will have a ticketed performance at the end of the semester, plus one or two service performances at local nursing homes.

Just as in life, in improv there are no rehearsals or scripts. PLAY THEORY provides a way to successfully navigate whatever comes your way, on stage or off. The 4 PLAY THEORY principles build capability, effective communication skills, leadership attributes and facilitate creative collaboration in improvised scenes. Individuals who view the world through this paradigm gain confidence, recognize the potential in self and others and understand that happiness is a skill not a circumstance. This class fulfills the Play Theory prerequisite for eligibility to participate in TNT performances. This course can be repeated as many times as desired; skills build as experience accumulates.
If you have already participated in an improv course before and would like to advance your improv skills, consider taking this intermediate class. In this improv class we will explore how to work with an audience. Participants will learn how to improve the audience experience and do so with energy. Though improv is mostly done on the fly, participants will learn how proper planning can encourage excellent showmanship. DISCLAIMER: The unintended consequence of this class will be development of soft skills. WIN WIN!
Prerequisite: Improv Foundations
