Arts Council of Placer County a Valued Partner and Supporter
The Arts Council of Placer County has long been a valued partner and supporter of Take Note Troupe. We have been the recipient many times over of their arts grants, and they do an incredible job at shining a light on the efforts of TNT and so many other groups in our area who producing art for the Placer County area. Their promotion of our events, including Shakespeare in the Park, On The Spot Improv, and our annual fall musical helps bring community members who aren’t connected with anyone at TNT to our shows and productions.
Highlights from the Arts Council of Placer County Feature of TNT
The article in the Art Council’s publication discusses how Play Theory makes all the difference in our organization and the lives of those who participate. It shares about the history of Take Note Troupe, from its founding by LaRee Florence and Jana Hargadon over 22 years ago, to its growth over the years. It also highlights TNT’s new leadership with Michal Thomas as Executive Director and Michael Anderson as Program Director. The article features how we began with a small band of homeschoolers and have developed into an enrichment program for youth from a variety of backgrounds, schools, and from throughout the Sacramento/Placer County area.
We loved this quote that they included from Michael Anderson, our alumni Program Director:
“I was part of the TNT program in high school and was fundamentally changed by Play Theory,” he said. “After I graduated, I found myself looking for ways to practice and apply Play Theory in everything that I did and craved a community of people who shared these values and skills. Now, 10 years later, I am so grateful to be able to help today’s youth learn, practice and internalize Play Theory. The power of Play Theory to change lives cannot be overstated.”
