ABOUT THE AWARD
IT LOOKS FABULOUS ON COLLEGE APPLICATIONS!
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is issued by Points of Light Institute and the Corporation for National and Community Service on behalf of the President of the United States. It is administered on a local level through a Certifying Organization. Take Note Troupe is registered as a CO.
The award consists of a lapel pin, a medallion, or a coin; a personalized certificate of achievement; and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States. It is earned when the volunteer meets the hourly requirement of service and civic participation within a 12 month period. The 12-month period does not have to be on a calendar year. Service can be done as an individual or with a group but must be, of course, unpaid.
There is no limit to the number of times this award can be earned. Recipients are eligible to receive the award once every 12 months.
